VISIT TO SIZEWELL B NPP FOR
YOUNGER WNA ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM DELEGATES

2-3 September 2008

The WNA is pleased to invite up to 35 young professionals (aged 35 and under) to Sizewell B, currently one of the best performing PWRs in the world. Sizewell is also a candidate site for the construction of a new nuclear plant, and it hosts a recently shut down Magnox reactor (Sizewell A) from the first generation of the UK nuclear fleet.

The visit to Sizewell will also include substantial networking opportunities and a unique Leadership Development Programme, conducted by a leading UK performance consultancy – Strategic Awareness. There will be a drinks reception and dinner hosted by the Sizewell B Station Director, Brian Dowds.

At the Sizewell B site, participants will have an opportunity to learn not only about PWR technology and the operation of Sizewell B, but also about the proposed new build programme in the UK and the extensive decommissioning programme currently being implemented at various sites around the country.

Participation fee: GBP150
This covers the cost for the entire trip, including overnight accommodation, meals and transportation.

Please note that to participate in this visit, you must be registered as a delegate to the WNA Symposium.

If you are interested in going to Sizewell, please contact Sophie Nocton.

Since we only have a set number of places available and it is expected that the number of applicants will exceed the number of available places, we therefore have to place limits on attendance. We will contact all applicants ASAP to inform them whether their application has been successful.
