CALL FOR PAPERS

AA nuclear revival is sweeping the world as concerns over climate change and security of energy supplies lead policymakers and industry worldwide to pay ever closer attention to the nuclear option. At the same time, the global economic climate is undergoing a process of radical change. What impact will the current financial turbulence have on the nuclear renaissance? The Symposium theme this year will reflect these challenges.

The WNA Symposium is the nuclear industry’s premier event - an annual conference attended by over 700 leaders and specialists from more than 30 countries. The Symposium brings together the nuclear industry and its major stakeholders to discuss the practicalities of a new nuclear generation.

We welcome Papers from within industry and also from external specialists in universities, financial institutions etc. The topics that we are particularly looking to cover include:
• Ensuring industry growth in a period of economic turbulence
• Developments in the international nuclear fuel cycle
• Facilitating investment in new nuclear power plants

We are particularly interested in proposals from emerging nuclear countries.

In selecting Papers, we will give preference to those which address topics generically, by providing a broad analysis of the world situation, at the expense of those which seek primarily to advertise a company or its products.

How to Submit a Proposal

Proposals for Papers must be submitted by 4th May 2009. Detailed guidelines on the requirements for presentations are available from the website or by contacting Isis Stafford. Proposals can be submitted online, and an offline proposal form is also available form that page.

The selection of Papers will be made by 1st June 2009. Please note that successful applicants must be prepared to submit a formal paper, due by 31st July, which will be published in the Symposium Proceedings made available to all delegates at the opening of the Symposium, and also give a 15-20 minute presentation, supported by PowerPoint slides, on 10th – 11th September 2009.
